A bit of sleeping breakthrough last night: Jay decided to lay off the morphine that has helped ease pain at night, replacing it with a couple of Tylenol and a sleeping pill. The result was his first really solid night's sleep since the surgery and no noticeable increase in pain.
That puts him in good shape to root for Andy Roddick to win Wimbleton today, and even attempt a bit of a walk at Five Rivers, our treasured nearby state park, and stare at that strange bright orb in the sky he faintly remembers.
We took a holiday from posting yesterday. Among the Sat. highlights: visit from Joe Spector with great care basket and LCA card. Tom Precious had the best line: all he has to do is ask the gov, "How are you going to pay for that, governor?" when virtually any announcement is made, and it's almost like Jay's still around.
