Good blood-test results

Some good news on the blood-test front today: a measurement of cancer activity taken in December was only about a quarter of what the number was in October, and less than a tenth of what it was last summer.

That seems to indicate that that the radiation and/or chemo is working, and that we should continue the chemo indefinitely.

The down side of that is the side effects of the chemo, most seriously the pain I have in my legs for a couple of days after chemo treatments.

To fight that, today we tweaked the chemo cocktail to eliminate a medication designed to ease nausea but also we think is the leg-pain culprit. We should know the effects of the shift by tomorrow.

Re the leg pain -- keep in mind that is an excellent excuse for bad golf, the sort of thing that occasionally comes in handy even for a tiger like you. Not something to be eliminated without full consideration. I'm just saying.

  2. Jay, this is incredibly great news! Maybe all that positive energy stuff Emily likes is really working - along with all the first-rate medical treatment, of course. Congratulations.
