Back to ol' chemo routine

It was back to the ol' chemo routine today, and this infusion went better than the last few did.

Whether it was because I took three weeks off from treatments (as I suspect) or spent much of the last 24 hours drinking water and squeezing a ball, (Emily's theory) my veins have recovered somewhat, making finding one into which to insert a needle today easy and painless.

My Albany oncologist doesn't like ports (a permanent entryway into a vein) to deal with the collapsed-vein problem because of the possibility of infection, while our guy in Boston thinks they're fine. Plan is to try to do the chemo without a port for as long as possible.

The chemo cocktail was changed a little today in an effort to reduce side effects. Tradeoff is between nausea and sore muscles and joints, and we changed it to deal with the sore-muscles problem. We'll know in the next 36 hours how it worked.
